"Yarr Harr Arr" is the first single by Antarctican pirate and musician Rockhopper. It was released on February 1, 2010 worldwide on Club Penguin Music Records as the lead single from Rockhopper's debut album, Rockhopper's Ballads (2011). It features a guest appearance by Terrain rapper DJ Crow, while the song was produced by DJ Crow's in-house producer Yusei. It was one of the first songs recorded by Rockhopper, and is a spin on his main pirate jingle. The majority of the lyrics were written by Rockhopper. "Yarr Harr Arr" runs for a length of 4 minutes and 18 seconds and is classified as pirate hop. Before the release of the single, the public heard "Tee Demo earlier in August 2009. The song was quite successful, and was certified Platinum two weeks after release, and then the next month it was certified 2x Platinum in the USA.

Background

The song was written by Calvin Rockhopper, Yusei, Crow Smith, Ricky Depp and produced by Yusei. During a private Christmas party held in the Night Club, Rockhopper attended the party and met DJ Crow, who said to Rockhopper that he heard that he was working on an album. Rockhopper confirmed this and Crow volunteered to lay down some vocals on one of the songs. They worked on the song that month, with Crow contacting Yusei for writing and producing the song. Later on, Ricky Depp from Flipperstomp wrote a few lines of the song too. Then later on they both went to Club Penguin Studios, along with Yusei, and recorded it. Rockhopper named the song after one of his catchphrases, and after his puffle. The cover of the song follows the pattern of "Tee Demo".

Critical reception

Raymond Vegas of "SnowMusic" gave the song a positive review: "Yarr harr arr! And a bottle of rum! Yarr harr arr! And a bottle of Cream Soda! Yarr harr arr! And a jug of sea water! Yarr harr arr! And sail the seas! Rockhopper's debut single does not disappoint. With Yusei behind the pirate/sea-shanty inspired beat, and the dumb but catchy lyrics - the song grows onto you immediately." 4/5 stars

Meanwhile, Ruby Music Digital also praised the song:

"Yet another stunning performance by the Famous Rockhopper. Also added in is some of DJ Crow's booming voice." 10/10 stars

Music video

The video is set at sea in Rockhopper's ship. He has a pirate crew in the video, along with his puffle Yarr. Rockhopper looks out the telescope and tells his crew that they are approaching Club Penguin. The song then begins as the other pirates dance around the ship. Rockhopper sings the first verse, then raps the next. As they dock at the Beach, the crew go inside the Lighthouse and feast on Cream Soda. Crow then appears - crashing through the wall and then performs his verse as the pirates dance. The video premiered on PengTube a week before the release of the song, and was played on television a lot. Currently the song has over 60 million views, and is in the Top 20 of viewed videos on PengTube. Another version was released in Shiverpool,on Sony Music by the writer of some of the songs,Phantom Heavyweight. The album-
