Silver Skier

The Silver Skier (real name Maraan Raddhos) is a Pavander High Penguin born in Arda, raised in the Valnorian colony of Costa Zenluth and former 'herald' of Malcur, who defected from his side to the side of the Good Guys. In present times, he is a member of The Defenders, however actually sided with Malcur in order to save his colony from destruction, although after Malcur attempted to destroy Arda, he famously fought him and lost. Later, he would come under the service of Ajax Kwiksilver. During the events of Colonial Antarctica and pre-Defenders era, he established himself as a superhero.

Background

Early Life as Maraan Raddhos

The Silver Skier was born as an ordinary Pavander High Penguin in Arda called Maraan Raddhos without any fourth wall powers what so ever or the colour silver; instead, he was an Eton blue penguin. During his early life, skiing was his favourite hobby and he would constantly go up one of the mountains of Arda and ski down it. He only taught himself and didn't attend a ski school. While skiing, he began to devise the idea of a superhero, who would use a pair of silver skis to defend the lands of the Kingdom of Valnor from great evils. As a teenager, he published a set of comics about this, which quickly gained popularity. He was amassed with great wealth quickly and was literally earning the equivilent of 1000 CP coins a minute.

Adulthood as Maraan Raddhos

At the High Penguin equivilent of young adulthood, Maraan attended university and did a Bachelor of International Relations. Due to his close relations with Finwe (how close or anything about it is unknown), he was made the ambassador of the colony of Costa Zenluth (traditionally, you'd start out as a consulate representative), where he moved to. Costa Zenluth was a properous, seabourne colony, with more converted natives then any other, thanks to the work of excellent missionaries. He mostly lived a quiet life, continuing his series of comics, which continued to make his fortune. He donated most of it to the developement of Costa Zenluth and because of this, he was elected Governor of Costa Zenluth. He attempted to run for First Minister of the Kingdom of Valnor, although failed to get elected.

Creation of the Silver Skier

Malcur's envy of his rivals grew and his rise would cause great havoc to Antarctica. However it could also be credited to the rise of the Silver Skier. While Maraan was skiing down a slope, he was met by Malcur, who threatened to destroy Costa Zenluth. As both the Governor and Ambassador of the small colonial province, it was up to him to negotiate a way out of it. The result was him swearing to serve Malcur as his herald. Malcur drafted the Silver Skier after looking at one of Maraan's comics and he was granted great fourth wall breaking powers, a silver body and the famous silver skis, which granted his powers.

Herald of Malcur

As the Herald of Malcur, his job was to travel Antarctica, searching for potential recruits and scout targets for Malcur. He would traverse through uninhabited areas as he didn't want any new followers to Malcur's army and would find excuses why not to destroy towns. To test his loyalty, the Silver Skier was sent to Arda. His job was to check it's defenses prior to an attack on the island. However the Silver Skier didn't wish for it to be destroyed; it was his birthplace. He lied about it, claiming that it was heavily defended by the best soldiers in all of Valnor and that a great power that could destroy Malcur himself was present there. However a soothsayer of Malcur knew that it was a lie and told his master. Angered, Malcur besieged Arda but was met by the Silver Skier. The Silver Skier lead the forces of Arda against Malcur. It resulted in a phyric victory for Malcur; the forces of Arda were defeated and the Silver Skier battled his creator though wasn't powerful enough defeat his former master. Malcur's army had endured great casualties and Malcur was still shakened by the battle. They left Arda, never to return. Meanwhile, the Silver Skier spent the rest of his life travelling Antarctica, witnessing history as it unfolded.

Post Valnor history

The Silver Skier saw history unfold but had little involvement until Khanzem. Prior to the fall of the Penguin Empire, he was seen flying over the major cities; the next day, major barbarian raids had caused great panic in Antarctica. Afterwards, he would be seen every sixty years and after that, something unlucky in history would happen, although examples of good luck have happened. Several sightings were reported and he appeared in numerous legends. However in actual, physical history, he never had involvement in much and he was confined to myths and legends, not history. Possibly one of the most famous legends is the Silver Ghost of the Trans-Antarctic Mountains; a silver coated skier would haunt the hikers on the mountains. This is most likely the Silver Skier simply skiing. However many examples of superpowers were seen. At the time of Khanzem, this legend was believed by the Khanz and they sent a team to look for the 'ghost', although none was found. Later, it was given up, because the Silver Skier had sided with Khanzem.

Khanzem and the Snowman Empire

With the rising of Khanzem, the Naughtzees began looking for the Silver Skier. Through hard work, they found him and attempted to abduct him however they failed with the Silver Skier defending himself against waves of Naughtzee soldiers in 2016. In this same year, Malcur returned with Opacus and ate the Two Trees. The Silver Skier attempted to stop both of them but failed. He realised that he must now take a further role in history rather then just be a witness. He fought against Khanzem on the side of the High Penguins as they had a major role in the Malcur prophercies. He was joined by Captain Antarctica and the two were sent on top secret missions against the enemy of Antarctica. At the end of the war, the Snowman Empire came and overthrew both Khanzem and the High Penguins. The Silver Skier initially fought against the Snowmen but eventually gave up and resided in the barbarian lands until the eventual downfull.

Olde Antarctica

After the overunning of Snowme and the rise of Opacus, the Silver Skier was recruited by Ajax Kwiksilver. This section will be written after the chronicles have finished.

Colonial Antarctica

The Silver Skier decided to use his power to fight crime, like many other superheros. He had the advantage over other superheros due to his high fourth wall breaking powers. He was simply a crime fighter who would catch those ranging from petty criminals to high ranking mafiastos. However the Colonial Antarctica government introduced the Super Penguin Registration Order (not to be confused with the one past in the Who's Side Are You On?), which require all Super Penguins to register in an universally recognised database. However many saw this as specist and many SPs were arrested for not registering by those SPs who did register. The Silver Skier chose not to side with anyone in this; instead, he left C.A for PreTerra, becoming a superhero there.

The Defenders

With the defeat of C.A by the Revolutionists, the Silver Skier was able to return to the USA, where once again, he served as an ordinary superhero. In 2002, he was recruited by the Bureau of Fiction to safeguard the universe from inter-universal raiders. He took pride in this position and was able to deal with almost anything that came in his way. However when Iron Walrus was putting together The Defenders, the Silver Skier was quick to volunteer to join. As soon as Iron Walrus saw him, he was accepted into the organisation. He will now play a major role in United We Stand, Divided We Fall.

Trivia

• He's a parody of Marvel Comics character, the Silver Surfer.
• As a note, he isn't truely evil but only sided with Malcur and Opacus to save his home. Some say that Costa Zenluth still exists, although this is disputed and even the Silver Skier refuses to speak of it.
• Nightmare created a rogue copy of him, called the Dark Silver Skier.
