Club Penguin Fanon Wiki:Time Travel portal
Time Travel is one of the most debated and complex topics in the history of the world. Many have dreamt of a machine that enables the user to travel forward and backwards in time, but many have also realised the impacts of this. Antarctica is the most technologically advanced when it comes to Time Travel, being in possession of a Time Agency, Teleportation technology, and a working Time Machine.
Firstly,

Time Travel - Just how does it work?

Antarctican Time Machines consist of three main components: a Procrastinator, a Time Gear, and a Space Ripper.
- Time Gear - A mysterious, rare cog-like device that, when spun at high speeds, moves spacetime either forwards or backwards in time. Its origin is unknown, and it is assumed to come from the future.
- Procrastinator - A procrastinator looks like a cylinder on an axle. The procrastinator is able to wind time in or out, transferring needed time to areas that are missing time. A Time Gear can often leave areas "missing" time, and the procrastinator accounts for that by filling in those gaps and leaving history running smoothly.
- Space Ripper - A space ripper does exactly what its name says: it literally rips spacetime. It rips spacetime apart to form a bubble encasing the time machine so that the Time Gear does not affect things other than the aforementioned time machine.
In short, a Time Gear moves the time machine forwards or backwards, leaving areas of missing time. The Procrastinator accounts for that missing time, and the Space Ripper holds the Time Machine together.
Feel free to add a scientific explanation for this. I'm not that skilled.
Alternative methods of Time Travel
Contrary to popular belief, there are other ways to travel through time that do not require a Time Gear, Procrastinator or Space Ripper.
An alternative method of Time Travel is Magic. Magical spells can be casted that transport an object, person (or even the user) into the future or the past. Depending on the time distance between the departure and destination, these spells can leave the user drained and weak. The Focused Teleportation Plate uses the powers of Magic to work.
Another method is Suspended Animation, or "Cryo-Sleep". Although not Time Travel in itself, suspended animation creates a pocket of space inside which time is slowed down while outside the pocket time continues as normal. Inside the pocket of space, 100 years outside can seem like a second. However, early suspended animation procedures involved the freezing of a subject and did not involve this technology.
Time Travel Devices
Time Machines are few and far between, but in Antarctica there a number of notable machines that are worthy of mention.
- Time Travel Staff - Glitched and dangerous time travel device, previously owned by Ben Hun, that caused much damage to the Fourth Dimension.
- Vortex Manipulator - Most common and widely used time travel device.
- Kwiksilver's Vortex Manipulator - James Kwiksilver's Vortex Manipulator has been largely modified by its owner, and has seemed to become slightly sentient. It is also the only Vortex Manipulator to be affected by the Ghost Dimension in a positive way. (All other Vortex Manipulators shut down upon entering the Ghost Dimension.)
- Focused Teleporation Plate - Literally, a plate that can teleport the user to any place and time they focus on. Used only by Bureau of Fiction employees, and powered by a Magic spell produced by Mayor McFlapp. There are only twelve of these plates in existence. Similar to the Ghost Manipulator (see above).
- TARDIS - Doctor Hickory Dickory Dock's TARDIS spaceship is the most advanced and efficient time travel machine ever seen. It is not of Antarctican origin, and is said to be from a distant planet called "Gallifrey".
Time Travel organisations
- Time Agency - The controversial Time Agency began in 2009 with the discovery of the first Vortex Manipulator, and was an even more secret branch of the PSA. However, soon temptation and greed reared their ugly heads. Sure enough, within its second year of operation, the Time Agency became a private betting agency. This was regarded as a bad move by many Time Agents, who quit and joined James Kwiksilver (who had also quit due to Operation Casino Night) in opposing the Agency. A schism broke out. The Time Agency was split down the middle, half of its employees siding with Kwiksilver and the other half standing by their crazed Director. The First Great Time War resulted in the jailing of the Director and the instatement of Roofus Scribblydor as the new Director. From 2011 till 2016, the Time Agency used its powers for good and assisted the Bureau of Fiction in matters of time. In 2016, Roofus was mysteriously deleted and the old Director was released on parole and reinstated as Director. Events in the Power4U Affair led to the collapse and total destruction of the Time Agency.
- The Bureau of Fiction's Department of Time - Second oldest division of the Bureau of Fiction, this organisation does not rely on Vortex Manipulators for Time Travel, but their own devices, such as the Narrator's Organ and Focused Teleportation Plate (FTP) technology.
For Authors - The use of Time Travel in stories and the Future
Time Travel can only be facilitated using the Procrastinator, Space Ripper and a Time Gear, or Magic or another method mentioned above. Changing history should be avoided because it can get messy, also be mindful of paradoxes.
Here at the wiki we've decided that history shouldn't really be written after 2020 unless it's a hypothetical scenario. The future is always changing so you can't really set it down in stone unless the entire wiki agrees, as they did with the For Great Justice saga.
