The Pizzatron 3000 is a very high-tech device designed and created by island inventor Gary the Gadget Guy. It makes pizzas for hungry customers at the Pizza Parlor.
History
Pre-Pizzatron
In late 2005, Gary decided to visit the Pizza Parlour for the first time. He had been delaying all along because he thought that, given its main target (sailors), energy-packed food would be served. This would mean that things like boiled and fried blobs of dough that were in reality more than 50% Fat would be served. Taking a deep breath, he waddled in, and found his fears were completely wrong - the chefs were good with healthy foods, and it was all hand-made.
From that point on, he chose to visit more often, as it was filling and delicious. Every time he visited, however, there were moe customers, and with more customers comes more orders, and more orders means that making pizzas slows down. Because of this, chefs were being fired regularly for not being able to keep up with the speed of industry. From the group of cooks that had been employed since the beginning, all had been fired apart from the Chef.
Gary befriended him, and he learned about the complex situation. He then thought that, to help the Pizza Parlour running, making a device to speed up the industry would be an excellent idea.
Pizzatron 1000
Armed with blueprints and a screwdriver, he bought second-hand metal and took it all apart, then melted it, and finally molded it into the Pizzatron 1000, which was the first precursor of the Pizzatron 3000. By the time the Pizzatron 1000 was finished, it was early 2006. It looked very different to what it is now - it looked like a long orange escalator propped on a shiny metal desk, with silicon studs all over it so pizzas would have a hard time slipping off.
When it was delivered as a late Christmas present, the chefs were elated to see how fast their pizzas were being made, and in a fortnight, they opened the service to the public, so ordinary penguins could have a try and see what it was like making pizzas. This move was a great success, as it brought much publicity to the Parlour and allowed the chefs to rest whenever they wanted to. In the end, the manager even decided to pay the volunteers.
Unfortunately, an accident caused the popular Pizzatron 1000 to break. The accident went like this - around closing time, a slow, clumsy penguin was allowed access to the Pizzatron 1000, and he made a real mess of things. Normally, the chefs didn't mind, but when he dropped an entire batch of squid, he was asked to stop, but he refused under the statement that because he was handling it meant that he now owned it.
The chefs tried all they could, but nothing could take him away. All they could do, was watch to the Pizzatron 1000 be slowly destroyed by the jerk, and began to feel regret that they had allowed him to enter. At last, the jerk realised that if he stayed for longer, then he would get into trouble, so he ran out; at the same moment, the Pizzatron 1000 exploded majestically, leaving behind a smouldering pile of bent metal.
After this sad incident, the Pizza Parlour was in the headlines for weeks afterwards, and an expedition to find the jerk was held; in the end, he was captured and sentenced to 10 years in prison for trying to destroy a public service. Meanwhile, a few of the chefs who didn't do anything to stop the jerk were fired, while the remaining chefs had to go back to the traditional way - hand-making pizzas.
Pizzatron 2000
Gary went to collect the remains of the Pizzatron, and fixed it to the Pizzatron 2000. This time, it looked identical to what it looks like now, except it had two levers - one was for Candytron 3000 mode, and the other was a "switch on/off" lever. When it was released, a huge fuss was made as penguins flocked to practice their pizza-making skills again, but when they were informed that they would have to undergo a full question-and-answer session first, more reluctance was shown.
Once they fully understood the reason, however, interest began to stir, and the Pizzatron 2000 became very popular.
