Penguin World Air, or simply PWA, is the international division of Penguin Air, Inc. Founded in 2013, PWA offers flights from Penguin City to places in the USA. The airline soon became the largest international carrier based in the Asiapelago.
History
Unused Aircraft (2012)
Thanks to a billion WB$ grant from the Shops Island government, Penguin Shops Air, known as Penguin Air then, purchased a whole bunch of new and used aircraft. Some of the used aircraft included several Snowing 747-400 and 767-300ER aircraft. The money had to be spent some way, so the airline though that widebodied aircraft was important. Freeman Martel, the owner and CEO, believed that these planes would ferry lots and lots of passengers.
Unfortunately, these aircraft were almost completely unnecessary. Passenger loads were incredibly minuscule, and, though Penguin Air was somewhat profitable, the airline was losing lots and lots of money. These aircraft were soon grounded and were placed in storage. The only time these planes were used was when there was a charter from another country. Even then, though, Shops Island's airports couldn't handle international flights.
A New Airline (2013)
On August 3, 2013, Freeman Martel announced that the airline will be split into two. Using the mainly unused Snowing 747 and 767 aircraft from Penguin Air, an airline within an airline was formed. It was named Penguin World Air, or PWA. This was to be a new international division that operated out of the newly opened Mamao terminal of the Penguin City Airport. While the public didn't understand why a separate airline was necessary, PWA was created anyways
At first, they only operated flights from Penguin City to South Pole City, which connected businessmen from that city to Shops Island by air for the first time. This route soon became quite popular, and more routes opened up between Penguin City and parts of Antarctica. In just a few short months, PWA had quite a few important destinations.
Fleet Renewal (2014-present)
After the aircraft finished being transferred to the airline, PWA announced that they will be ordering 5 Snowing 747-8i aircraft, along with 10 Snowing 787-8 aircraft. These aircraft would replace the aging 767s and 747-400s. In the meantime, PWA acquired some old McDannel-Douzas MD-11 aircraft from SkyJet Airways. While PWA eventually received some 787s, they canceled their 747-8i orders, fearing the economical impact and the "excessiveness" of the plane itself.
On January 25, 2014, PWA announced that they were increasing their 787 orders, as well as adding new orders for Snowing 777-8X aircraft. They also ordered some 777-200LR aircraft, but it was eventually canceled due to the lack of demand for more passengers. While the 777-8X isn't supposed to arrive until 2020, PWA has eagerly anticipated the addition of several new, state-of-the-art 787 aircraft to its fleet.
After two years of deliveries, the final Snowing 787 for PWA was delivered on November 27, 2015. With the deliveries now completed, PWA's only Snowing 767 remaining in its fleet was sent on a farewell tour throughout Shops Island. Starting at Penguin City, the aircraft circled clockwise, stopping at various cities like Vonkouver, Goberna, and Shops City. The farewell tour concluded on December 31st, marking the end of 767 service for PWA.

Livery


PWA's livery is similar to Penguin Shops Air's livery. However, the lime green color is replaced with a sky blue color. The words "Penguin World Air" and the PWA logo replaces the "Penguin Shops Air" name and the PSA logo, respectively.
Special Livery
- Spirit of South Pole City: This livery is applied to a Snowing 747 aircraft. The fuselage is covered with a comic-style panorama of South Pole City. The engines, "Penguin World Air", and the PWA logo are black instead of sky blue.

The international division of Penguin Air, Inc. serves a variety of destinations around Antarctica. The vast majority of the flights depart from the Penguin City Airport, but a seasonal flight departs from Vonkouver every Winter.

Penguin World Air is not a part of any major airline alliance. However, the international branch of Penguin Air codeshares with a few airlines. By a few, we mean one.
On-board Amenities
In-Flight Entertainment
PWA's main entertainment system is called Penguin 10K, and all aircraft incorporate this system. Each seat has its own personal television. Passengers can have access to movies, TV shows, audio, games, and even live TV if the flight is within Shops Island. There's even a moving map that can be accessed within the system. Penguin 10K is free of charge to all passengers, regardless of travel class.
Wi-Fi
Many aircraft were recently outfitted with Airwave in-flight Wi-Fi. Passengers can connect to the internet at anytime during the flight, as long as the "electronic devices" sign is on. Wi-Fi speeds are generally modest, with speeds ranging from 3G to 4G LTE speeds. All passengers must pay a small fee to access the internet, with the exception of Executive Class passengers.
Travel Classes
Executive Class
Executive class is the most luxurious class offered. This travel class is available on only the 747, as well as the upcoming 777-8X. Passengers enjoy a fully private suite, a lie-flat seat, and personal storage space. They also enjoy two power ports and two USB ports. There's an additional chair in each suite, in case a visitor wants to come over; however, that seat does not recline. The visitor's chair also acts like an ottoman, as well as a part of the lie-flat bed. A feast is provided on every flight, with a main meal service, an ice cream and cookie service, and even food items a-la-carte. A pre-departure beverage and nuts is also provided, as well as free Penguin 10K access. For additional comfort, a complete quilted duvet and pillow is free, as well as an amenity kit and pajamas. At Penguin City, passengers have access to the Executive Lounge, a lounge intended for Executive Class passengers only.
BusinessPLUS
BusinessPLUS is available on all aircraft. Every single aircraft has lie-flat seats, with some storage areas and ample legroom. Each seat contains two USB ports, along with an AC adapter. Every passenger gets a complete menu of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, cooked by experts at Penguin City. They also get a complimentary amenity kit, which contains items that a passenger might need for the flight. All passengers can have a pre-departure beverage, free snacks and beverages in a glass, free alcoholic beverages, and free access to Penguin 10K entertainment, with access to every single movie, TV episodes, games, and audio channels. At Penguin City, passengers can enjoy special check-in areas and free access to the PenLounge.
Economy Elite
Economy Elite is available on all aircraft. Seats have 38 inches of pitch. There's also a retractable leg rest for comfort, and even a movable headrest. There's 50% more recline than normal economy seats. To add to the comfort, a free pillow and blanket set is provided on all flights. Passengers enjoy early boarding, dedicated overhead bins, and free usage of Penguin 10K, though passengers have less options than BusinessPLUS passengers. Meals are free of charge, and they are presented with real china and metal utensils. The food is the same as in Economy, though. Free alcoholic beverages and soft drinks are also provided.
Economy
Economy Class is available on all aircraft, of course. Seats are 17.5 inches wide and have 31.5 inches of pitch, along with a movable headrest on some newer aircraft. Passengers enjoy a free meal, which is served in a standard plastic container. A pillow and blanket set is provided for free, as well as the use of Penguin 10K; however, economy passengers have the least amount of options. This is a "bare bones" product, and flights can be quite uncomfortable sometimes.
PenLounge
Penguin World Air operates a PenLounge at Penguin City. Entrance to the lounge requires either money or miles. BusinessPLUS passengers can enter for free, as well as Executive Class passengers.
PenLounges generally have a buffet table, a snack bar, and drink machines. There's also a bar that serves alcoholic beverages. All of the lounges have plenty of seating, charging stations, and free internet access, along with local and national newspapers. On some lounges, there are showers and beds, for those who need a little bit more comfort. Executive Class passengers have access to a special Executive Lounge, with better amenities in a smaller space.
