Michael Ice, better known by his stage name Nevim (pronounced: nee-vim) is a singer, songwriter and producer from Club Penguin, United States of Antarctica. He started singing from his teenage years and then started producing and recording independently. He was signed to Club Penguin Music Records in late 2010 after being persuaded to audition. He released his first single in 2010, succeeding chart success. He released his debut studio album, titled Simpletons & Gangsters, in April 2011.

Background

Michael Ice was born on July 3, 1985 to Sally Ice and John Ice in Club Penguin, United States of Antarctica. His parents both worked in the toothpaste industry, something that young Michael did not want to continue. He discovered music around the age of three, banging pots in and pans in his parents' igloo. His only inspiration was the TV, and at a young age he watched various musical shows. When he reached his eighth birthday his parents bought him a special yellow keytar. He vowed to play it everyday, and he did. He taught him self to play it without any outside influence. He progress through school in the top classes and went to a special catering university. After university he went on to be a trainee chef and graduated to a professional chef.

Music career

2008-2009: Early works

Michael Ice first started performing in March 2008 to make some extra cash, as his current job then wasn't paying very well. Before his first ever live performance, he practised for about three weeks. He went to various vocal coaches, but failed to find an adequate coach, wasting two weeks salary for nothing. Close friends recall that he was "sweating to get it right". Finally, he was ready. The live performance was in Freezeland. He performed covers and some of his own songs. Only three clips have been found on WaddleTube, two recordings (one good and one laggy and bad) and one video, recorded on an icePhone. Despite only 57 penguins attending many agreed he could have a good career ahead of him. After this performance he was buzzing. He just had to plan more shows. He put up posters all around Club Penguin to ask his fellow penguins to congregate and watch him perform. He went down a hit. After sixteen good shows Nevim realised this could be his dream job, he could make a living out of this.

He performed in the Night Club on New Years Day 2009, performing in a show called "A Musical New Year". Rumours say that there were some penguins in the music business looking very closely at Nevim. He was getting noticed on the streets in March 2009, with penguins pointing him out and telling others. In late July 2009, his friends heard his music and desperately persuaded him to audition to a record label. He remained mostly inactive, except for songwriting - where he wrote songs for Cadence for her debut album in late 2009. In March 2010 - instead of performing he recorded with his friends. He had got his sample ready, and was satisfied with it. He was ready to take the plunge into music. He ventured to Club Penguin Music Records and asked for a contract. Some of the executives knew who Nevim was, but they weren't going to give him a contract without hearing him. So his performed several songs, and he was signed in April 2010. His parents were especially happy for him. His label booked shows around Club Penguin for him, usually receiving crowds of up to 2,000, filling the Beach, Lighthouse, Beacon, Dock, Ski Village and Mountain. This was his life, though his fellow employees were a little annoyed that someday he would leave his current job, to fulfil his musical career and ambitions. But he didn't care, he knew they were jealous of his amazing talents. And by June 2010, he started working on his debut album.

2010-2011: Simpletons & Gangsters

Nevim started working on the album in mid-June 2010. At first the record label didn't hook him up with any producers, so he worked on it alone. In August 2010, Nevim announced that he was working on his first album. Then in September, Club Penguin Music Records got Yusei to help Nevim with the album. By November 2010, four tracks were completed. In December, Nevim announced that 12 songs were to be on the album. In January 2011, Nevim returned to performing with a new style - a feather-beret, keytar and a signature shirt. He announced that a single "will hopefully be released in March". In February 2011, he announced a single called "Simulation" would be released on March 14, 2011.
