Maria Denise is an eccentric and often misunderstood teenage girl who has undertaken many odd jobs and hobbies in the past, present, and future. Despite the inconsistency of her work, you can rely on her as a jack-of-all-trades. She is typically described by most as "strange" and nothing else. As of right now, she is the technical owner and namesake of Maria Pasta, a small but popular Ligurian restaurant in South Pole City.

Background

Not much is known about Maria's past or even her childhood. Much of it is shrouded in mystery, but her lifetime of inconsistent work began at the age of fourteen. As a young girl desperate for a start on a career path, she began working for TurtleShroom Industries, a newly minted division of Holyberden that was seeking to expand the company beyond amusement parks and onto "energy", as it was worded. This ensured her status among TS and his family as a trustworthy and competent employee, despite the confusing and abstract nature of the job. She quit soon after due to the boredom of the job, but they kept in touch.

Ruby Inc., a local game development company, hired her to find glitches. In just two weeks, she worked the ranks up to game developer. Then she quit and started working as a motorcycle mechanic. This job kept her busy for about a month, until she was led to an ancient temple rumored to have great riches. As Maria is often seeking cash and excitement, she entered the temple and found herself in nothing but trouble. She forgot to call off work, however, so she lost the mechanic job. Maria also suffered a few broken bones from a falling rockslide in the temple, leading her to become bedridden for a bit.

Maria grew restless at the thought of just laying around unproductively. Her nurse considered tying her to the bed at one point, but Maria was somehow strong enough to perish the thought of that altogether. Once she was out of the hospital, she entered a local cheerleading tryout for a high school football team and made it in, only to lose her position thanks to a video game competition with the cheer captain. Surprisingly enough, though, the game was one of the games Maria briefly helped develop, even seeing her name appear in the credits.

Not much happened after that. Her retirement from the cheer squad gave her more free time to work, so she took a gig cashiering at a local frozen yogurt shop. From there, a customer met up with her and made some... rather shady business negotiations with her. Nobody is quite sure how this happened (and neither is she), but this was an opportunity for something much greater - her chance to own her own business.

Involvement

Maria is almost never seen working at the same place twice. Despite this, she has made many friends throughout her jobs and still spends time with them when possible. She dropped out of school to support herself and her social status, but this only left her less eligible for work. She now assists in a twenty-four hour pasta shop named Maria Pasta. She maintains relations with Holyberden and TurtleShroom's family, who have shown strong interest in buying out Maria Pasta.

Since 2010, she has been a member of the Str00del Force, who welcome, condone, and commend her weirdness, urging her to embrace it. This membership has been one of the most consistent in her life. In the Str00del Force, she delivers goods and messages from different Str00dels to each other using her motorcycle.

Trivia

  • She is parody of Mona from the WarioWare game series.
  • She doesn't seem to understand why people think she's strange.
  • Maria was born blonde. A chance encounter with Agent Meltie encouraged her to try dyeing it, resulting in a beautiful orange color.
    • She maintains it to this day.
