The Liberation of Mapsian Territories was a short-lived militia involved in the 2011 Maps Island border conflict. Formed during the course of the border conflict, the Liberation aimed to "united Maps Island under a new ideology that is socially acceptable to everyone.". Since then, it has claimed control of the middle area of Maps Island. During the conflict, it used home-made weapons to fight during the war.

After the liberation of both countries under the Maps Union, the Liberation claimed it has achieved it's goals and subsequently dissolved.

Background

It all started out in a shady hut near the border of the two countries...

"Fellow members, thank you for joining us tonight," said the eldest.

"Starting tomorrow, we will start a revolution that will rock the core of the island and once again unite both sides," said a burly penguin sitting next to him, donning a hood like all other members seated around the table.

"Members, we will be taking part in the ongoing war between the Confederates and the Democratics," another continued.

"And we shall seize the opportunity to start a revolt against the two governments and once again bring peace and prosperity to our great nation," a fourth added.

"Members, you are the first batch of recruits to take part in this gruesome, dangerous mission," the eldest spoke again. "We wish you to convince our fellow citizens to take sides with us and eliminate the border that we all dread. Once. And. For. All.

The next day, a new belligerent in the ongoing conflict appeared. It took the name of "Liberation of Mapsian Territories", and it's aim was to unite the island and usher in a new period of peace and prosperity, just like in the passage above...

Role in Conflict

The Liberation acts as a third player in the conflict, not taking sides with the two. Rather than wishing to conquer the entire area from one side, it wishes to "unite both countries". It has claimed the middle of the island to be within its administration, although other belligerents' groups were still stationed there. The group, however, manages to stall progress of both sides and took over the former capitals located near the border of the island.

To date, its strongholds lie in small villages and towns within its center of administration. However, larger cities are still within the militarisation of CRWM and DREM.

Ideologies

The Liberation is a Third-way centrist, located within the centre-left of the political spectrum. It focuses on
