The Jedi High Council is a council of 12 Jedi, usually Masters, who lead the entire Jedi Order.
History
It is unknown when the Council was initially founded, but it is thought to be over a thousand years ago.
When most of the Jedi were wiped out during and after the Khanzem War, the Council, along with the entire Jedi Order, was disbanded. The first time it is known to have been revived was in 2014 on Shops Island by the up-and-coming Jedi, Penquino.
To become a Member
Every member on the Council was unanimously voted onto said Council at one time or another. Once on the Council, a Jedi stays until one of three things occurs: Their death, their resignation from the council, or it has been unanimously decided (by the other eleven members) to have them exiled from the Council.
Leader
The last known leader of the Council was Yed'ah, who held two titles: Grand Master and Master of the Order. Master of the Order is the title given to the technical "leader" of the Council, elected by their peers. The title Grand Master is given to one Jedi, who retains that title for their lifetime or until their resignation. They are the head of the entire Jedi Order.
