The Antarctic Food Company is the main food producer for the United States of Antarctica. They are the manufacturer of Puffle-Os and coffee beans. The company is best known mostly for its Puffle-Os and edible snow (branded as S. N. O. W.), but they also produce coffee beans, sugar, fish, rice and fruit. The Antarctic Food Company also owns a subsidiary called New Fresh Pizzas, which is a chain of pizza shops. The company uses a vertical integration model in order to ensure quality and keep food up to the company standards. According to a 2020 survey, 73% of penguins have said that this is their go to company for buying food from.

The Antarctic Food Company was founded by the government in 2005 in order to ease the famine caused by a rise in food prices. This move turned out to be successful, and the company was privatised a year later in 2006 after the famine ended. In 2007, a pizza chain called Fresh Pizza was launched, however it was quickly brought out by Pizza 7. This was the same year the company began to sell bread. In 2008, New Fresh Pizza was launched, intended to be just like the original Fresh Pizza.

History

Founded in 2005, the Antarctic Food Company was made to improve the living of famine in Eastshield and other states in the United States of Antarctica. This famine was the result of a rise in food prices which in turn was due to poor management of farms and other agricultural facilities. The Antarctic Food Company was founded by the government as a temporary move to provide an affordable way to purchase food while the agriculture industry was being sorted out. This is why the company uses the vertical integration model. The first product launched was coffee beans, which were imported from some of the warmer islands surrounding the cold mainland. This was a hit, as during the famine coffee was expensive. The success of coffee proved the at the company's goals were being achieved. As the profits grow higher, they also made, from the fruit of the quite common O-Berry Plant, a product called "Puffle-Os" to improve the living of puffles too. This was a widely praised move, as many puffles felt like the government did not care about them and only intended to help penguins. Next the AFC began to sell rice, which, like the coffee beans, was imported from abroad. This was a commercial success, however it led to the company being criticised for not doing enough to promote local agriculture. Because of this, the Antarctic Food Company moved their rice plantations to 90-150 (mainland). The same year, the Antarctic Food Company created a new product called S. N. O. W. This is a brand of edible snow. While the snow was very cheap, many penguins were left confused as to why the company decided to make such a product. Nevertheless, it was still a profitable product.

In 2006, the famine ended, and the government decided to privatise the Antarctic Food Company and put it on the public stock exchange. It attracted over 10,000 investors on the first day of being public. Unfortunately, a month later they had a crisis. Their coffee beans were found to contain the harmful disease Fat. They recalled all products and found that one in twenty found contained Fat. It was due to the workers who manufactured it, putting too much ingredients in the coffee. They renewed their product into "Natural Coffee Beans", which does not contain any additional ingredients, only the coffee beans. This new product became wildly successful, even more than the original, because it was only coffee beans, meaning the coffee was considered to be more proper. They also started the making of sugar in this year. The sugar was made from sugar cane grown in Sherby Hoodwounds. The sugar was sold in bags and was seen with mixed views considering the recent fat scandal. However, it was still popular as the penguins using the sugar decided how much sugar they wanted to put into their food.

In 2007, the AFC introduced the subsidiary of having "Fresh Pizza". It makes and sells pizza and was headquartered in Pengyboo Island. However, the business was not as profitable as originally hoped, and it was taken over by Pizza 7 later that year. They also expended into selling bread and fish that year as a part of a move to sell more everyday food items. They sold both white and brown bread, but the white bread was more successful. The company sold grey, fluffy, mullet and Weddell fish, caught in the state of Weddell. The fish was a natural success among the consumers, as most of them are penguins, although by this time there were many other companies selling fish. This is why the Antarctic Food Company decided to sell a large variety of fish in order to outdo the competition.

In 2008, they created a subsidiary, New Fresh Pizzas. By the end of the year, it had three branches. The first was located in South Pole City. The second was in Bezul City. The very last one was at Pengolia. Within the next ten years more branches would open, such as the Club Penguin branch and the Inland branch in 2009, and the Aurelia branch, the Pengu Town branch, the Shiverpool branch, and the Hashville branch in 2010. By 2020, New Fresh Pizza had opened over ninety branches in the United States of Antarctica, with plans to open up more branches in Margate.
